I’VE LOST count of the number of times I’ve been told off by readers for having the temerity to attack the Tory-LibDem Alliance now governing us. Proper opposition is about agreeing with the government, not opposing it, apparently. Yes, well…
Such adherents to “consensus” politics (shudder!) will no doubt be fuming at yesterday’s strange press conference hosted by Tory Party chairman, Baroness Warsi, to which Chris Huhne was also invited. The topic? Government policy, perhaps? No, no, no – that would be sooo Old Politics. No, Warsi and her little helper called the nation’s media together to attack the opposition.
Yes, that’s right. After promising an end to “Punch and Judy politics”, the Tories are spending their summer, not trumpeting their Brave New World, but attacking Labour.
