A GROUP of garden enthusiasts in Canton recently got into the community spirit by holding their first ever Canton Garden Fair in Victoria Park.
Local Cardiff West politicians Kevin Brennan MP and Rhodri Morgan AM were also in attendance to hand out some awards to local school children who entered the wellie gardening competition.
"This is a fantastic event that has helped bring together people of all ages from not just Canton but from all over the city," said Kevin.
"The event has been organised by the Canton Community Gardeners and I think they should be commended for the excellent work they have been doing in the community from events like this to litter picks around Canton.
"I was delighted to receive an invitation for the event and present Holly Pritchard from Landsdown Primary with 1st Prize in the wellie gardening competition.
"I hope the Canton Garden Fair becomes an annual event and I look forward to attending future Canton Community Garden events in the future."
