La Grippe
A bit more reality from France on the Swine Flu pandemic that never was.
FRANCE'S swine flu vaccination scheme was a "failure", with millions of doses having to be thrown away or cancelled, an official parliamentary investigation has concluded.
A new report by MPs and senators found the €700m vaccination campaign had failed to persuade doctors and the public of the importance of the jab.
Some 5.36 million people were vaccinated - less than 8.5% of the total population and short of the government's 12 million target.
The report said the way the vaccination was given out, using specially set up centres and avoiding local GPs, had contributed to the low take-up. Only one in twenty GPs took the vaccine themselves, so Sarkozy was forced to use military doctors.
One French commentator Paul Carline was kind enough to quote my report. With Governments and Big Pharma defending their backs, my report is the only one, so far, that can claim to be independent.
He writes: "The scam cost the British taxpayer £1.24 billion; the French at least 800 million euros. Estimated global sales of the unnecessary vaccines: $18 billion. Total estimated (reasonably reliably - it is rarely possible to attribute the cause of death uniquely to a flu) deaths from the flu worldwide: around 18,000 - a fraction of the normal 'winter flu' casualties in Europe alone. The estimated number of deaths caused by the vaccine in Europe alone: 176 (almost certainly an under-estimate), of which 151 are attributed to Pandemrix (made by GSK). Because of the terms of the contracts governments entered into with the vaccine makers it is unlikely that any compensation claims will be successful.
The European Parliament wanted to hold its own inquiry, but its request (why should it need to ask for permission?) was rejected by the Commission (which always serves the interests of big business).
The 742-page French report - which deals only with looking at the response to the 'pandemic' doesn't question whether the pandemic was faked.
The only more or less independent inquiry that has been conducted so far is that of the health sub-committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The report by the rapporteur Paul Flynn is worth reading. He concludes that the 'pandemic' was based on "unjustified scares and fears" and led to a "waste of large sums of public money".
He says that there is "overwhelming evidence that the seriousness of the pandemic was vastly overrated by WHO" - that "this was a pandemic that never really was".
The PACE inquiry identified "grave shortcomings" in the transparency of the decision-making on the outbreak, generating concerns about the influence of the pharmaceutical industry on the decisions taken. In particular, WHO and European health institutions refused to publish the names and declarations of interest of the members of the WHO Emergency Committee and relevant advisory bodies who drew up key WHO guidelines on the stockpiling of flu vaccines.
